The Sanksaar Valley School aims at making global citizens through a variety of programmes and through opportunities of Exchange. Students have opportunities provided by Round Square Schools, Rotary Club and American Field Services (AFS). We welcome students for a Gap Year and have also sent students for an opportunity to China.
AFS is an international, voluntary, non - governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. AFS was created in 1914 and has been doing intercultural programs since 1947, currently present in more than 54 countries with over 13,000 exchanges per year.
The benefits of this intercultural experience are manifold. The participant, the host family, host school, and the community get an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
A very warm welcome to The Sanskaar Valley School (TSVS), India. The purpose of this guide is to provide students with a general overview of the The Sanskaar Valley School Exchange Program and advice them on how to prepare for an Exchange. Highlights include what to expect while on an exchange and points to consider before, during, and after. Specific information would be covered in orientation sessions arranged by school before the exchange. With this manual we hope to provide you with helpful information to prepare you for the visit to TSVS. We have provided certain guidelines, to make your task of preparing the visit easier. The institution looks forward to International Exchange of both students (regular & gap year) as well as the faculty. We appreciate the enthusiasm and the commitment that candidates show in coming to India and thereby enriching their hosts and themselves.
All Exchange Students are expected to play a full and active role in school life, including the academic programme. Students will choose from the range of subjects offered at TSVS. While we will cater for individual needs, we expect visiting students to participate actively both in and out of the classroom.
You may experience a range of emotions during your time at the school. A positive attitude will be vital especially if you face language difficulties. If you feel homesick, persevere, for it won't be long before you feel 'at home'. We very much look forward to meeting you soon and hope that your stay at TSVS will be rewarding and will set you on a path of positive personal development.
