Culmination of Global Perspective: Africa – The Maasai Mara
Grade 2E presented a vibrant dance-drama showcasing their learning from the Global Perspective unit on Africa, with a special focus on the Maasai Mara. Through expressive movements, simple dialogues, and colourful costumes, the children brought alive the values that define the Maasai community—kindness, courage, strength, and resilience.
The performance highlighted that the Maasai people believe in living together as one community, supporting one another, and sharing whatever they have. The children beautifully conveyed the core message:
“It is not about what we have, but about what we share.”
Scenes inspired by the daily life and celebrations of the Maasai—especially their community bonding and symbolic dance elements—helped students express the idea that true strength lies in unity and generosity. Their joyful enactment reflected how the Maasai are considered among the most warm-hearted and giving communities in the world.
By blending storytelling with dance, the assembly helped students appreciate a new culture, understand global values, and recognise that kindness is a universal language. The culmination truly celebrated learning, teamwork, and cultural respect—leaving the audience touched and inspired.
