Celebrating Creativity with Sustainability – Turning Waste into Wonder..!
Students of Grades 2 and 3 recently participated in a unique eco-art activity that gave them an opportunity to ideate as they could empathize with beautiful pencil shavings landing in the dustbin. The Design Thinking challenge invited our young eco-artists to reimagine pencil shavings into beautiful and creative greeting cards.
Held on Friday, October 3, 2025, the activity encouraged students to let their imagination bloom and transform simple shavings into flowers, patterns, and vibrant designs. What would normally be thrown away became the centerpiece of colorful artworks, reflecting both innovation and artistic expression.
The initiative aimed to instill in learners the importance of reusing and recycling in everyday life, while nurturing their creative thinking and fine motor skills. It was heartwarming to see students working with excitement, experimenting with shapes, and discovering how small everyday materials can tell a big story when used thoughtfully.
This engaging event highlighted the joy of creating something meaningful from waste, reminding students that sustainability begins with small steps and creative minds. It was indeed inspiring to watch our young learners turn “waste into wonder.”
