On 13-12-2024, Sopaan hosted an exciting and innovative event titled "Future City" aimed at combining creativity, mathematics, and urban planning. Students from classes 6, 7, and 8 participated in the event, where they were tasked with designing a model of a futuristic city. The event was designed to encourage students to think critically, use mathematical concepts, and apply them to real-world problems, especially urban development in the future.

The core idea of the event was to help students understand the importance of mathematics in urban planning and design. Participants were given the challenge of conceptualizing and constructing a scale model of a "Future City" using basic mathematical principles such as geometry, measurement, scale, proportion, area, volume, and more. They were also encouraged to consider practical aspects such as:

• Urban Sustainability: Efficient use of space, green areas, waste management, energy consumption, etc.
• Technological Advancements: Smart homes, automation, transportation, etc.
• Population Growth: Housing, transportation, and resource management for growing populations.

The "Future City" event was a great success in not only promoting mathematical skills among students but also encouraging teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. By integrating real-world concepts into mathematics, the students were able to see how math plays a vital role in shaping the future. The event was a unique and enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future to inspire and engage students in the world of mathematics and beyond.
