In a captivating classroom experiment, Grade 5 students delved into the wonders of weather and climate by creating clouds in a jar. The students enthusiastically participated in the hands-on activity, observing the magical transformation of water into clouds. To recreate this phenomenon, hot water was poured into a jar, followed by a spray of hairspray to simulate condensation nuclei. The jar was then covered with a lid, and ice was placed on top. As the hot water met the cold surface, the students witnessed the mesmerizing process of evaporation, culminating in the formation of clouds inside the jar. Through this engaging experiment, the students gained valuable insights into the condensation and evaporation processes, the role of water vapor in cloud formation, and the water cycle.
