Economics Department of Shikhar has organized ‘The Bollywood Economic Showdown’, an inter house competition which took place on Wednesday, 16th of October, was a vibrant and insightful experience that combined the glamour of Bollywood with the brains of economics.
Participants from class 9 to 12 showcased their creativity by presenting Bollywood movies as economic case studies, each with their own unique twist. Through these presentations, they highlighted various financial concepts like budgeting, investment, inflation, opportunity cost, and market dynamics as seen in fan-favorite films such as Sholay, 3 Idiots, Hera Pheri, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
The event was full of energy and enthusiasm, with students exploring how economic principles play out behind the scenes in Bollywood.
Event was judged by Mr. Abhishek Garg (Drama faculty of TSVS) and Ms. Nickita Tahiliani (Social studies Coordinator).
The showdown culminated with Satya securing 1st place, Pragyan taking 2nd, and Udyam finishing in 3rd.
By the end, it was clear that the blend of fun and laughter with learning had made complex concepts easy to understand, leaving everyone both entertained and informed. This event offered a fresh perspective on the intersection of Bollywood and economics, making for an unforgettable and educational experience.
