Grade 4 students participated in an interactive activity aimed at enhancing understanding of the Earth's rotation and its effect on day and night. A working model, aptly named the "Day and Night Model," was prepared to vividly demonstrate this concept to students. The model was designed to represent the Earth as a globe mounted on an axis, allowing it to rotate. A real light was used to simulate the Sun.
The primary objectives of this activity were to help the students in understanding how the Earth's rotation on its axis causes the alternation of day and night. It also helped them to know more about circle of illumination.
In conclusion, the "Day and Night Model" activity successfully bridged theoretical knowledge with practical application.
