Underpinning the key Pedagogies of primary and lower-level secondary English resources

An English workshop was organised on 14th October,2023 by Cambridge University Press in The Sanskaar Valley School. The resource person Ms. Tanya Valecha, Principal of Rustomjee Cambridge International School and Junior College and Cambridge Syllabus trainer from Mumbai and acknowledged as one of the country’s top 100 influential Principals conducted the workshop for the teachers of The Sanskaar Valley School and seven other prestigious schools from Bhopal and other cities of Madhya Pradesh.
The workshop was aimed at training and familiarising the teachers with the Cambridge English Framework and Curriculum. Ms Tanya Valecha guided the teachers about proper implementation and transaction of the curriculum. Also, a detailed insight about the Cambridge Teachers Resource Book and its effective usage was addressed through an interesting and interactive activity.
The highlights of the workshop were interesting activities, methodologies and presentations. Ms. Valecha emphasized on the importance of teaching skills-reading, writing, listening and not only the textbook. Teachers learnt about using very effective strategies like traffic light, 3-2-1, skim and scan, flip grid, DEAR time, show and tell, 50 words composition and use of tic-tac-toe for enhancement of teaching-learning process. She also discussed the importance of differentiation in teaching-learning process as each learner learns differently.
The workshop was highly appreciated by all the attendee teachers and it concluded by vote of thanks by the English Coordinator of Sopaan Ms Shweta Manyala.
Dr. Dilip Panda, Vice-Principal of The Sanskaar Valley School, Ms. Lubna Warsi Head of Shikhar, Ms. Swapna Choubey, Head of Sopaan and Ms. Manpreet Bhan, Head of Prangan graced the occasion by their presence and participation. The workshop aimed at professional development of English teachers by Cambridge University Press and it was delivered to its best capacity.
