‘Eat less from the box and more from the earth’.
What children eat and drink during their early years can affect their health for many years to come. General eating habits are formed in the first few years of life, so it is important to encourage children to eat nutritious food.
The topic ‘Human Body: Food we eat’ was introduced to the Fourth graders of Prangan with a welcome activity by deciding their own healthy menu followed by various activities. Students enjoyed Simon says activity wherein they got acquainted with various food groups. They prepared a healthy meal planner which helped them to practice healthy eating habits and develop social skills. During the lesson children also learnt about millets and their benefits for our health. The topic was culminated by sharing of interesting and innovative recipes using millets by students.
