Debate competitions provide an excellent platform for students to develop their critical thinking, public speaking, and analytical skills. It not only helps to boost their confidence but also provides them with an opportunity to express their opinions and ideas in a structured and organized manner. An Inter House Debate Competition was conducted for the students of Sopaan in the Kalanjali to hone their public speaking skills. The topic for the same was- “Should space exploration be prioritised over addressing Earth’s environmental issues?” Two teams advocated Space exploration versus two teams presenting Earth’s environmental concerns. Students were very excited to share their views “For” and “Against” the topic. Debaters from the four houses were engaged in spirited exchange of ideas and views. The interjectors threw thought provoking questions which were answered aptly in a very convincing way. The whole session turned out to be very informative. The judges were impressed with their well-structured arguments, supported by relevant evidence, and delivered with conviction.
