De-Worming Drive

Initiated by the National Health Mission, we observe National De-worming Day every year. As a part of this mission, the District Collector has directed all schools to administer Tablet Albendazole 400 mg to all school children aged 2 to 19 years. The tablet is to be chewed or crushed before swallowing. The dose is 1 tablet of Albendazole 400 mg for children & adults above 2 years of age.

The Gut Helminthes or Parasites, commonly known as ‘Worms’, rob the body of the essential nutrients, thus adversely affect healthy growth of the child. Worms are a major cause of anaemia and other nutritional deficiencies in children. We support the Govt. in this noble endeavour towards freedom from worms, thus ensuring better health for our children.

Please Note:- De-worming should be done at regular intervals (as per the recommendation of your Doctor) for all family members and all household helps, preferable at the same time to break the cycle of contact and to ensure better coverage and protection of our children.

The tablets are being provided by the Govt. in boxes like this (scan photo attached). We have given one tablet to each child.

We look forward to seeking your cooperation making the National Health Mission successful.
