Heartfulness Relaxation Session

The Heartfulness Relaxation session as part of the school routine was initiated today in the school. The students were guided to settle down in the classes and with a gong the session started. They were gently guided to relax each part of their body, slowly letting go of stress and achieving a state of peace-energising them paradoxically for the day ahead.

Of course it being the first day, Aadhar children being children, there were some who used this time, with ma’am’s eyes closed, for bonding with friends! It was a great experience for all and one could feel a sense of peace all over Aadhar. The parents coming in late were surprised too at the calm atmosphere which otherwise is the most lively part of the day!

Heartfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, using  a therapeutic technique. It has no affiliation with religion, though in every religion the heart plays a major role.

And in these changing times, it is important for each one of us to up our EQ i.e. Emotional Quotient and work towards the emotional well being of our children as well as ourselves. We, as a school, have taken upon ourselves the task of working towards the emotional well being of each of our students with the Heartfulness Meditation Pogramme.

The Heartfulness session is going to be an integral part of the school routine with 3, 10 mins session (Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 7:45 to 7:55) a week for Prangan, Sopaan and Shikhar and 2 sessions a week to start with- every Monday and Friday at 8:30 am for Aadhar . The teachers will do this on other days as well in their classes at their level and suitable time.
