‘The future is in our hands, let us take a stand to preserve our beautiful land’.
The students of Grade 5D presented an assembly on Sustainable Development Goal 15- Life on land focusing on the urgent need to protect terrestrial ecosystems, stop biodiversity loss, and promote sustainable land use. The assembly began with a clear explanation of what Sustainable Development Goal 15 stands for and why it's critical in today’s world. Students shared alarming facts about deforestation, species extinction, and land degradation, reminding everyone that the health of our planet starts with us. A thought-provoking skit was performed, showcasing the delicate balance between human needs and nature. The act emphasized how unsustainable farming, unchecked industrialization, and deforestation can harm our ecosystems—but also how collaboration and eco-friendly practices can lead to a synergetic situation for both people and the planet. The assembly moved from awareness to action with a set of simple yet impactful practices students can adopt like Planting Trees, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Volunteering for conservation. An inspirational quote by Al Gore was shared, encouraging students to reflect on their moral responsibility towards nature. Our little wonder Samayra Shobhane portrayed the character of the famous environmentalist Shrimati ‘Tulsi Gowda’ a true guardian of nature and an inspiration to all. To conclude, all students stood together and took a meaningful pledge to care for the Earth, protect its resources, and work towards a sustainable future.
This special assembly served as a powerful reminder that every small action counts. Through facts, performance, reflection, and a collective promise, the students were encouraged to become active guardians of our planet.
